SIGUL is a Special Interest Group on Under-resourced Languages set up by the European Language Resources Association (ELRA) and the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) with the intent of focusing on the particular needs and requirements of under-resourced languages in terms of Language Resources and Technologies.
SIGUL 2023, the 2nd SIGUL Annual Meeting, will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of cutting-edge research in text and speech processing for under-resourced languages by academic and industry researchers and, carrying on the tradition of the CCURL-SLTU Workshop Series (2008-2022), it will span the research interest areas of less-resourced, under-resourced, endangered, minority and minoritized languages.
SIGUL 2023 will take place in Dublin (IE) from 18 to 20 August 2023 as a Satellite Workshop of Interspeech 2023.
SIGUL 2023 will have a joint session with SLaTE 2023, the 9th Workshop on Speech and Language Technology in Education, organized by SLaTE, a Special Interest Group on Speech and Language Technology in Education set up by ISCA. SIGUL-SLaTE joint goal is to accelerate the development of spoken language technology for under-resourced languages through education.
